| Sumario: | In the province of Jujuy (Northwestern of Argentina),the period 1950-1970 was characterized by the incidenceof economic progress based on the steel industry. There are two plans that justify local and urban development around Altos Hornos Zapla (AHZ) in Palpalá and the revaluation of the role of the capital city San Salvador de Jujuy. The first plan is by the architect Vivanco who projects an operating scheme based on the premises of modern architecture and urbanism in two centers with differentiated profiles. The second plan was carried out by a consultant together with the Consejo Federal de Inversiones (CFI), which is studying in depth the possibility of establishing an industrial park complementary to the activities of AHZ, developing planning guidelines for these two locations. Both proposals, although did not materialize, influenced the current conformation, in terms of growth and residential expansion of the agglomerate. |
