Sumario:The objective of this study was to evaluate patient satisfaction during orthodontic treatment with regard to perception of care, discomfort, and pain. The research wasdescriptive, cross-sectional, and observational. A totalof 107 patients were administered a questionnaire assessing satisfaction with orthodontic outcomes, quality of care, and perception of pain and discomfort during orthodontic treatment. The results were divided into threegroups based on the level of satisfaction with the orthodontic treatment: very satisfied, somewhat satisfied,and not satisfied at all. Descriptive statistics and ANOVAtest were conducted using the Stat Calc program.The average time to complete the questionnaire was4.9 years. 45% of the patients were somewhat satisfiedwith the treatment. The ANOVA test found statisticallysignificant differences between the groups regardingchanges made by the treatment, information receivedduring the treatment, and customer service questions.The main differences in satisfaction with orthodontictreatment were related to the care and communicationbetween the patient and the orthodontist. Patients inthe dissatisfied group reported greater discomfort andpain with the use of anchorage devices.
