Sumario:The research addresses the influence of environmental conditions on human life, highlighting the increase in energy costs and the importance of finding architectural alternatives to improve comfort and energy efficiency. Four key elements for hygrothermal comfort in buildings are identified: temperature, humidity, air velocity and air quality. Ventilation, essential for air quality, becomes more important due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The implementation of a Mechanical Ventilation system with geothermal heat exchange designed to suit some locations in the central region of Argentina is studied. Its components, design criteria and application in different projects are detailed, analysing its advantages and difficulties in its implementation. After carrying out seven successful pilot projects, it has been possible to demonstrate the technical and economic viability of the system, guaranteeing an adequate flow rate and significantly reducing energy consumption.
