Sumario:This paper compiles historical data which were processed and simulated in order to determine the magnitude of the floods. HEC-HMS program was used, implementing the Soil Conservation Service method. Some parameters, such as Curve Number and initial abstraction, were calibrated only where sufficient information was available. The rest was adjusted using the available flood peaks in the original data. The simulation results of 14 storms showed a high degree of agreement with previous studies in neighboring basins and with estimates of the satellite-derived curve number available online. The stated objectives were achieved: calibration, characterization of parameters and enhancement of the series of available hydrometeorological data.
