| Sumario: | The Union of Agricultural Cotton Cooperatives Limited emerged in 1934 and as a consequence of various causes: crisis of the 1930s, Chaco cotton strike, among others. It was the main reference institution in the region for more than 50 years. It developed closely linked to cotton production and opted for its industrialization. UCAL established a large regional company that ventured into financial issues and the export business. The objective of this work is to analyze the institutional trajectory of UCAL during a period of 50 years, during which macroeconomic policies changed, generating major transformations in the institution. |
