These systems, which are comprised of user-actors, exert the greatest influence on the urban affordance that stimulates human behaviors. The current research explores this contingent relationship through a documentary review and direct observation of Ignacio Díaz Square in the city of Guadalajara, Mexico. Within this context, three social systems hold significant presence: the parish clergy, the municipal council, and the association of artists and merchants. Each of these systems assigns meaning to objects and things within the public space, while also operating and continue its practices that delimited the diverse affordances of the square, thereby allowing certain user behaviors. This is the conclusive hypothesis. Understanding this contexturization of affordance is valuable in the design of urban spaces. Las personas ejecutamos actividades con sentidos que son correspondientes a prácticas con que los sistemas sociales adjudican significados a objetos y cosas que caracterizan al espacio urbano. Tales sistemas, integrados por esos usuarios-actores, son los que mayor determinación tienen sobre la afordancia urbana que estimula los comportamientos humanos. El presente artículo explora esa relación contingente a partir de revisión documental y observación de la plaza Ignacio Díaz en Guadalajara, México. Allí tienen presencia preponderante tres sistemas sociales: clero parroquial, ayuntamiento y asociación de artistas y comerciantes. Cada uno adjudica significados a objetos y cosas del espacio público a medida que opera y prosigue sus prácticas, así delimitan la afordancia variopinta de la plaza para permitir ciertos comportamientos de los usuarios. Esta es la hipótesis conclusiva. Entender esa contexturización de la afordancia sirve en el diseño de espacios urbanos. As pessoas realizam atividades com um sentido que corresponde às práticas pelas quais os sistemas sociais atribuem significado a objetos e coisas que caracterizam o espaço urbano. Esses sistemas, compostos por esses usuários-atores, são os que têm maior influência na affordance urbana que estimula os comportamentos humanos. A pesquisa atual explora essa relação contingente com base em uma revisão documental e observação direta da Praça Ignacio Díaz na cidade de Guadalajara, México. Três sistemas sociais têm uma presença preponderante: o clero paroquial, o conselho municipal e a associação de artistas e comerciantes. Cada um atribui significados a objetos e coisas no espaço público, ao mesmo tempo em que opera e continua suas práticas, delimitando assim as diversas affordances da praça para permitir certos comportamentos dos usuários.
