Dermacentor nitens es una garrapata Neotropical con reportes desde el norte de Argentina (provincias de Salta y Jujuy), hasta el sur de México, sin registros en Chile y Uruguay. Tiene como principal hospedador a equinos, por ende, esta garrapata adquiere importancia veterinaria por su rol como vector de microorganismos. Por lo antes mencionado, el objetivo del presente trabajo es aportar nuevos hallazgos de D. nitens para la provincia de Corrientes, Argentina ampliando así su distribución.
