Is important to emphasize the attention given to the genre by both María Zambrano (in La confesión: género literario y método, essay of 1941), and Rosa Chacel (in La confesión, of 1971). Critics have pointed out the relevance of the link between these authors, indicating the contrasts around their approaches. However, it is still necessary to consider the hypothesis that both –each of them with a singular strategy− project the confession as a privileged way for a possible expression of the experience, configuring it not only as a significant core of the relationship between life and truth, but also as a reaction to the inexplicable nature of the tragedy surrounding the biographical transit through exile and its fictional manifestations. Un interés particular por la confesión tuvo lugar, a mediados del siglo XX, dentro de la contienda entre los excesos racionalistas y la emergencia de otro tipo de saber más ligado a lo experiencial. En ese marco cabe destacar la atención que dedicaron al género tanto María Zambrano (con La confesión: género literario y método, ensayo de 1941), como Rosa Chacel (en La confesión, de 1971). La crítica ha señalado la relevancia del nexo entre estas autoras, indicando los contrastes en torno a sus abordajes. Sin embargo se impone aún considerar la hipótesis de que ambas –con sus respectivas estrategias− proyectan la confesión como vía privilegiada para una expresión posible de la experiencia, configurándola no sólo como núcleo significativo de la relación entre vida y verdad, sino también como reacción al carácter inefable de lo trágico en torno al tránsito biográfico por el exilio y a sus articulaciones ficcionales.
