Influence of aquatic vegetation on the Paraná river fishes distribution, Argentina

A preliminary approach for exploring the interactions among aquatic plants and fish population is suggested. Dense concentration of aquatic macrophytes are present in wetlands of Paraná System. The role of aquatic plants as refuge, feeding, reproduction and dispersión for fishes, is discussed.
