| Sumario: | Argentine physician Salvador Mazza is well known by medical historiography and the history of health and disease for his research on “Chagas disease” in Argentina. Less well known is the fact that he served as a medical officer in the health service of the Argentinian Army between 1915 and 1920. The aim of this work is to analyze his professional career as a military doctor, his scientific production developed during in health service and his collaborations in the publications of this service before, during and after hisperformance as an army officer. I suggest that his academic and professional career as a doctor is expressive of the existence of a network of institutional and personal relations between the Army, Health and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires. |
