Bryoerythrophyllum jamesonii has been collected in high altitude grasslands and is distinguished by its dioecious reddish-brown plants; leaves are oblong-lanceolate with a broadly acute and apiculate apex; the margin is flat and recurved above the sheathing base, weakly dentate towards the apex; the costa is papillose ventrally, while smooth on the dorsal side, and the basal paracostal cells have firm walls and are not inflated. This contribution includes the description, illustration, and comments of the species mentioned, as well as a taxonomic key to compare it with its congeners present in the country. Nuevo registro del género Bryoerythrophyllum para Argentina: B. jamesonii. Con este hallazgo, el género está representado en el país por seis especies, cinco para el noroeste y una en el sur. Bryoerythrophyllum jamesonii ha sido recolectada en los pastizales de altura y se distingue por sus plantas dioicas de color pardo rojizo; las hojas son oblongo-lanceoladas con el ápice anchamente agudo y apiculado; el margen es plano y recurvado por encima de la base envainadora, débilmente dentado hacia el ápice; la costa es ventralmente papilosa, mientras que es lisa en el lado dorsal, y las células basales paracostales tienen paredes firmes y no están infladas. En esta contribución se incluye la descripción, ilustración y comentarios de la especie citada, así como una clave taxonómica para compararla con sus congéneres presentes en el país.
