Sumario:This article constitutes a synthetic investigation on the catenary curve. It starts from the formal definition and mathematical deduction corresponding to its equation, continuing with its manifestations as a natural form in beings and phenomena of nature, highlighting its fundamental property related to the stability of the inverted curve. Finally, some of the works of Rober Gaudí are taken up again to highlight their importance in the processes of architectural design and structural calculation.
