They are: a) progressive development; b) market solution; c) social urbanism; d) integral perspective; e) evictions. It seeks to demonstrate that in recent decades all the approaches indicated or hybridizations of them are in force. The analysis focuses on the assumptions that they imply, the foundations, the orientations of the same and the axes of intervention that they raised and/or developed. For this, the bibliography produced on the subject in Latin America since the 1960s and documents from national and international official organizations were reviewed. En este artículo se propone analizar diferentes paradigmas de intervención en asentamientos populares en América Latina que se sucedieron desde fines de la década 1970 hasta la actualidad y los programas que se encuadran en ellos, focalizando en algunos países de la región. Los paradigmas son: a) desarrollo progresivo; b) solución de mercado; c) urbanismo social; d) perspectiva integral; e) desalojos. Se busca demostrar que en las últimas décadas se encuentran vigentes todos los enfoques señalados o hibridaciones de estos. El análisis se centra en los supuestos que implican, las fundamentaciones, sus orientaciones y los ejes de intervención que plantearon y/o desarrollaron. Para esto se revisó la bibliografía producida sobre el tema en América Latina desde la década de 1960 y los documentos de organismos oficiales nacionales e internacionales. Este artigo se propõe a analisar diferentes paradigmas de intervenção em assentamentos populares na América Latina que ocorreram desde o final da década de 1970 até o presente e os programas que se inserem neles, com foco em alguns países da região. São eles: a) desenvolvimento progressivo; b) solução de mercado; c) urbanismo social; d) perspectiva integral; e) despejos. Procura demonstrar que nas últimas décadas todas as abordagens indicadas ou hibridizações delas estão em vigor. A análise centra-se nos pressupostos que implicam, os fundamentos, as orientações dos mesmos e os eixos de intervenção que levantaram e/ou desenvolveram. Para isso, revisou-se a bibliografia produzida sobre o tema na América Latina desde a década de 1960 e documentos de órgãos oficiais nacionais e internacionais. Universidad Nacional del Nordeste.
