| Sumario: | Millions of people reside in urban and periurban ecosystems, exerting high pressure on naturalresources, affecting their sustainability. The United Nations Organization promotes, in theSustainable Development Goals, the conservation of Ecosystem Services (ES) by social actors. The level of ES recognition is relevant to maintain sustainability in these ecosystems. Theobjective of this work was to analyse the level of recognition of ES provided by urban andperiurban ecosystems by different social actors. For this, a study was carried out based on aglobal bibliographic review. Social actors (local residents, experts, decision makers) recognizedthat urban and periurban ecosystems are providers of a wide range of ES (provision, regulationand cultural). This work constitutes a conceptual base to approach, in a holistic way, thesociety-nature relations. |
