Sumario:A qualitative research was conducted among mothers of 4-year-old children attending Mitaí Rogá V in the city of Corrientes, Capital City, to assess their knowledge about oral health. The aim was to generate an understanding of the social representations of mothers regarding oral health knowledge. For this purpose, mothers of 4-year-old children who attended the Mitaí Rogá V Child Development Center during the year 2019, until March 20, 2020, were selected and were observed directly in the field and in-depth interviews were conducted to collect the information. The set of meanings that mothers have regarding preventive measures for the oral health care of children was worked in this study. The non-probabilistic sample included 6 mothers of 4-year-old children. Direct observation was carried out with notes in the field notebook and in-depth interviews with the mothers, which were recorded in the field. The analysis used the constant comparative method of Glaser and Strauss. From the analysis, it can be seen that the mothers' information and level of knowledge about oral health are insufficient, which leads to disinterest and apathy. Proposals are made for a space of abstraction and reflection of the results with the actors involved and reflection of the results with the actors involved in this academically relevant topic.
