Sumario: In this paper we focus our analysis on the intersection between Popular and Solidarity Economy -a theoretical and empirical field in construction- and critical food studies. We particularly addressed the work of food production and distribution by two organizations –Unión de Trabajadores sin Tierra and El Arca– whose work is mainly involved with the Metropolitan Area of Mendoza, in terms of recognizing and analyzing their spatial behavior in order to achieve their economic and political objectives. Based on a qualitative approach, the research is based on direct field observation, both participant and non-participant, in each organization. From this work we identified and described a number of spatial practices carried out to produce and distribute food. In this sense, in general, we detected a tension between the search to move towards higher scales of action and the strengthening of the work in the places of origin of each organization.
