To carry out this work, vector and raster data were integrated into a Geographic Information System [GIS] through which the morphometric parameters related to the shape, size, relief, topology and drainage network of the basin were calculated. The morphometric analysis carried out in the Oro river basin has allowed us to characterize it as a large, elongated basin, with very gentle slopes and low drainage density. These geomorphological conditions generate a slow runoff, without flash floods, and explain an attenuated hydrological response to precipitation events. El presente estudio tiene por objetivo analizar las características morfométricas de la cuenca del río de Oro ubicado en el este de la Provincia del Chaco (República Argentina), con el fin de contribuir a la comprensión de la dinámica hídrica y de los procesos asociados al peligro de crecidas. Para llevar a cabo este trabajo se integraron datos en formato vectorial y ráster en un Sistema de Información Geográfica [SIG] mediante el cual se calcularon los parámetros morfométricos vinculados a la forma, tamaño, relieve, topología y red de drenaje de la cuenca. El análisis morfométrico realizado en la cuenca del río de Oro ha permitido caracterizarla como una cuenca grande, alargada, con pendientes muy suaves y baja densidad de drenaje. Estas condiciones geomorfológicas generan un escurrimiento lento, sin crecidas repentinas, y explican una respuesta hidrológica atenuada ante eventos de precipitación.
