El presente artículo describe el proceso integral del desarrollo del sector turismo en la ciudad de Chajarí, provincia de Entre Ríos, Argentina, y su aporte a la ampliación de su matriz productiva. El análisis se presenta desde el enfoque sistémico del turismo con énfasis en la perspectiva del desarrollo local, y está enmarcado en el contexto de la política general municipal. Considera la implementación de políticas y estrategias para su progreso, los efectos socioeconómicos y los aportes reflejados en los beneficios y perjuicios que ocasiona, en particular, en la población residente. También sintetiza las tipologías de desarrollo del turismo con las que es posible identificar al destino de estudio. El período se extiende desde 2001, año de origen del desarrollo del turismo en la ciudad, y hasta la actualidad. Como principal resultado se destaca que el municipio asume un prototipo particular de desarrollo del turismo que incorpora algunos de los ejes orientadores del desarrollo local y que el sector contribuye a diversificar su matriz productiva, así como también son evidentes los efectos socioeconómicos positivos. The article describes the whole process of the development of tourism in Chajarí’s city, Entre Ríos province, Argentina, and his contribution to the extension of their productive counterfoil. The analysis is presented from the systemic approach of tourism, with emphasis on local development perspective inside the context of the general town politics. It bears in mind the initiatives and implementation of policies and strategies for his progress considering the socioeconomic effects and the contribution reflected in the benefits and prejudices that it caused, especially in the resident population. In addition the types of tourist development with which the destination can be identified. The study includes from the origins of the tourism in the city in 2001 and up to the current stage. There were used so much quantitative as qualitative technical. The main result is that Chajarí take on a particular prototype of development tourism that incorporates some of the guiding axes of the local development.
