In the case of the Province of Córdoba, the study of the role that conservative actors or dissident groups of the radical party played in the formation of Peronism has taken precedence, with little attention to labor or union groups. This article investigates the working-class presence in a locality in the provincial interior, the city of San Francisco, and its role in the 1946 presidential elections. This role is explained in the constitution of San Francisco as an industrial city within the agro-export economy of Córdoba, which transformed social relations and collective identities, while generating a situation of particularity within the province. The article involves working hypotheses linked to the industrialization process in the city, the workers, the union role, and the relationship of Peronism with its opponents -especially communism- with whom it disputed their leadership and territorial penetration.
