ABSTRACT: We approach the presentation taking into account the evolution of the real right of antichresis in its initial conception, its reception in the civil code and the modifications produced in the recent civil and commercial code; dealing with the issues related to: object of antichresis; the so-called compensatory or risk antichresis; the issue regarding privilege in the Civil Code and the Bankruptcy Law and its harmonization; the right of retention in antichresis; useful expenses; the so-called tacit antichresis and the terms of antichresis.
