The concept of competencies is presented from a constructivist framework, understanding them as a set of resources that are mobilized in a specific situation in order to take a decision and solve a problem effectively. The competency-based approach has reached the curricula of several countries, and this has implied adjusting, revising, and articulating all related aspects, including learning assessment. Based on the review and analysis of various authors, four dimensions linked to competency-based learning assessment practices are proposed: planning, information gathering, analysis and reporting of results, and decision making. El presente artículo resulta de una investigación bibliográfica en curso sobre las prácticas de evaluación de aprendizajes en currículos basados en competencias. Se presenta el concepto de competencias desde un marco constructivista, entendiéndolas como un conjunto de recursos que son movilizados frente a una situación específica para tomar una decisión y resolver un problema de forma efectiva. El enfoque por competencias ha llegado a los currículos de varios países y esto ha implicado ajustar, revisar y articular todos los aspectos vinculados; entre ellos, la evaluación de aprendizajes. A partir de la revisión y el análisis de diversos autores, se proponen cuatro dimensiones vinculadas a las prácticas de evaluación de aprendizajes basadas en competencias: la planificación, la recolección de información, el análisis y el informe de resultados y la toma de decisiones.
