For this purpose, we conducted a qualitative study, with an interpretative approach and exploratory scope, with students from five high schools in the municipalities of Guadalajara and Zapopan, Mexico. To recover the information, we used two instruments: the discussion group and the questionnaire. The analysis of the data allows us to define four domains in relation to their happy stay at school: experiences with school habitability, relationships with their teachers, their academic achievement and bonds with their friends. Without denying the existence of the problems that surround them, it can be inferred from the results that, in general, students feel happy at school, because what is good and best of this age are experienced on school campuses. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo explorar, desde la perspectiva de los adolescentes, qué experiencias, en el espacio escolar, les permiten evaluar su permanencia como una estancia feliz. Así, se realiza un estudio cualitativo, con enfoque interpretativo y alcance exploratorio, con estudiantes de cinco escuelas preparatorias en las alcaldías de Guadalajara y Zapopan, México. Para recuperar la información, utilizamos dos instrumentos: el grupo de discusión y el cuestionario. El análisis de los datos nos permite definir cuatro dominios con relación a su estadía feliz en la escuela: experiencias con la habitabilidad escolar, las relaciones con sus profesores, su logro académico y los vínculos con sus amigos. Sin negar la existencia de los problemas que los envuelven, de los resultados, se infiere que, en lo general, los estudiantes se sienten felices en la escuela, porque lo bueno y lo mejor de esta edad lo experimentan en los recintos escolares.
