description This thesis is oriented to the analysis and the research of the metabolic diseases, especially the medium-Chain Acyl-Coenzyme A Dehydrogenase Deficiency (MCAD Deficiency), which is not included in the mandatory newborn screening. Once the description of metabolic congenit errors, defects in fatty acid oxidation and the incidence and genetics of this disease specifically is done, this thesis will relieve the importance of early detection to prevent decompensation, neurological consequence and even death trying to empathize that the early diagnosis of MCAD Deficiency and its specific nutritional treatment to achieve an excellent prognosis and to consider the relevance of this issue to the nutrition field.
