description La cuestión de la importancia social del denomimado Tercer Sector se ha venido tratando en distintos ámbitos académicos con distintas apreciaciones y valoraciones. En el presente artículo, el autor busca echar luz sobre la transición que debieron afrontar las ONG's de Latinoamérica a partir de los cambios producidos en el entorno socioeconómico y político en la región durante nuestra década. La aparición de las ONG's como actores sociales no es un fenómeno reciente. Antes bien, según apunta el autor, reconoce en sus orígenes, la idea de desarrollo alternativo concebida fundamentalmente en los 70. La misión e identidad en un contexto como aquel es bien diferente al requerido (o posible) en el actual entorno del mundo globalizado. De manera que el autor sugiere replantear el rol de las ONG's en el desarrollo de la actual sociedad...
