He makes observations on the relations between intellectuals and diplomacy in Latin America. Este trabajo se propone examinar el diario íntimo del historiador y diplomático paraguayo Juan E. O’Leary (1879 – 1969). Se enfoca en los cuadernos que redactó en Roma en el año 1937 durante su estancia como ministro plenipotenciario y encargado de negocios ante el Reino de Italia. Pretende contribuir al conocimiento actual sobre su trayectoria intelectual y su influjo en la escritura de la historia en el Paraguay.
