For this purpose, we will analyze both academic and testimonial works that give account of his activity in the Buenos Aires' drama scene, which contributed to such questioning. We consider it's important to carry out new reflections around Batato's figure, for he has become a point of reference for the current GLBT collectives. En el presente trabajo intentaremos desarrollar un abordaje teórico sobre el cuestionamiento de la heteronormatividad encarnado por el primer “clown-travesti-literario” Batato Barea (1961-1991) en la década del ‘80. Para ello analizaremos trabajos académicos y testimoniales que den cuenta de su actividad teatral en Buenos Aires, la que contribuyó a dicho cuestionamiento. Consideramos importante realizar nuevas reflexiones entorno a Batato Barea dado que él es un referente para los actuales colectivos LGTTBI.
