Stanislavski placed a special emphasis on phonetic and expressive aspects in the difficult creative process of giving birth to a character. The importance of language as a conscious and unconscious support for performance is a prevailing idea in the theoretical foundations of his method. This study is an attempt to gather his most significant ideas on language and to explain their relevance for the system as a whole, thus opening a new window towards the role of Linguistics in the configuration of Stanislavski‟s system, within the wide corpus of research already done on Stanislavski‟s works. En este artículo se analiza el “sistema” de Stanisvlaski, centrándose en la importancia del lenguaje como una parte principal del mismo. Los elementos fonéticos y expresivos fueron destacados por Stanislavski con especial énfasis dentro del arduo proceso creativo que supone dar vida a un personaje. La significación del lenguaje como soporte consciente e inconsciente de la representación, es una idea prevaleciente en las bases mismas de la creación teórica de su método. Esta investigación es un intento por agrupar sus ideas más significativas acerca del lenguaje y por explicar su importancia dentro del sistema como un todo, abriendo así una nueva ventana hacia el papel que ocupa la lingüística en la conformación del sistema stanislavskiano, dentro del amplio corpus de investigaciones ya existentes sobre el autor.
