This first book contributes to the larger project of decolonizing dance studies.   Danzas Desobedientes (2022) es el primer libro del Grupo de Estudios de Danza Argentina y Latinoamericana (GEDAL) de la Universidad de Buenos Aires. La compilación desafía los cánones convencionales al destacar diversos temas, objetos y estéticas de la danza más allá de los discursos legitimadores. Busca construir una identidad plural de trabajadores de la danza y fomentar producciones Sur que examinen el Sur. El GEDAL se especializa en estudios críticos de la danza, considerando el cuerpo como un producto cultural y tema de investigación, entrelazando práctica y teoría a través de diversas metodologías. Danzas Desobedientes (2022) profundiza en las danzas argentinas, participando en diálogos hemisféricos más allá de las narrativas hegemónicas, adoptando perspectivas y metodologías específicas. Se resiste a los cánones eurocéntricos, aboga por la especificidad y abraza las perspectivas de la danza local, desafiando la marginación. Este primer libro contribuye al proyecto más amplio de descolonización de los estudios de danza.
