description The Multimodal and Multimedia Discourse Critical Studies (MMCDS) reflects on the coexistence of two serious pandemics: the current armed conflict and the Covid-19 one. The proposed objectives include, firstly, applying the principles of the MMCDS approach to explore how the two pandemics are constructed and used to systematically create media revictimization exercises. The discursive links that build the meaning of the crises, and the similarities and ruptures between conflict and coronavirus are examined. Second, it is established, through resources and strategies, the use of mediated discourse to persuade, mitigate, make visible-invisible, justify, and legitimize intergroup relations marked by discursive polarization and systematic exercises of violence. Through the relationship between convergence and intertextuality, the representational patterns and rhetorical effects of the news are verified. Third, the media construction of the crises that justify and legitimize crime and death for marginalized populations is explained and understood. The analytical procedure will focus on a mass media material from the newspaper ElTiempo.com; The sample is limited to twenty news items, selected from the keywords: 'armed conflict' and 'Covid-19': 'coronavirus', 'violations', 'crimes' in the period that begins with the detection of the first coronavirus case in Colombia (March 6, 2020) and ends on July 6, 2021.
