description Testimonial reports on gender violence and sexual violence against women in the context of State terrorism in Argentina became known from the early days of the military regime. With the reopening of the trials for crimes against humanity in 2005, these crimes began –not without resistance– to be addressed and treated as a specific dimension of clandestine repressive action. In this article I present some results of a research based on the study of political violence against women in San Juan, Argentina, through the approach of the federal judicial archive generated after the first Mega Case for Crimes against Humanity in that province (2011 and 2013). For its realization, I opted for a historical-anthropological study and an ethnographic-feminist approach. I am interested in giving an account of the local characteristics of political violence against women, through two illustrative cases of local repressive action: the case of María Luisa Alvarado Cruz and Marie-Anne Erizze.

No. 1 (2026): Dossier: 50 years after the 1976 coup d'état.
