Este artículo trata de realizar una breve comparación entre la Antropología Social llevada a cabo en Argentina y en México entre 1960 y 1990, aproximadamente, con el propósito de mostrar cuál era la orientación y relevancia de las investigaciones y estudios con pueblos indígenas, así como posicionar el método etnográfico dentro de la Antropología. Este texto realiza uma breve comparação entre a antropologia social produzida na Argentina e aquela produzida no México, entre os anos de 1960 e 1990, procurando demonstrar qual era a orientação e a relevância das pesquisas e estudos com povos indígenas, assim como situar o método etnográfico dentro da Antropologia.
