Our proposal is to analyse the historical evolution of the landscape through film and to study the heritage or cultural landscape of the bay as a resource. It also aims to detect which characteristics of the territory arouse cinematographic interest. To do so, we have used a methodology that looks for geographical characteristics in the films, the product of the selection of exteriors and a testimony of human activity; elements that integrate the visual image of the city and make the urban space legible. The intention is to approach mental representations as a different way of analysing space. In contrast to quantitative approaches, which reduce space to a network of arcs and nodes, or to simple geometry, the geography of mental representations considers the territory as a space that is lived, felt, valued and perceived differently by people through mental images and individual and collective impressions. The conclusions of this study show that cinema can contribute to these objectives by means of a cultural itinerary that provides answers to these three needs and allows us to discover the meaning that people give to the scenery that surrounds them. Nuestra propuesta es analizar a través del cine la evolución histórica del paisaje y estudiar el patrimonio o paisaje cultural de la bahía como un recurso. También persigue detectar qué características del territorio suscitan interés cinematográfico. Para ello hemos utilizado una metodología que busca en las películas características geográficas, producto de la selección de exteriores y un testimonio de la actividad humana; elementos que integran la imagen visual de la ciudad y hacen legible el espacio urbano. La intención es abordar las representaciones mentales como una forma distinta de analizar el espacio. Frente a planteamientos cuantitativos, que reducen el espacio a una red de arcos y nodos, o a simple geometría, la geografía de las representaciones mentales considera el territorio como espacio vivido, sentido, valorado y percibido de forma diferente por las personas a través de imágenes mentales e impresiones individuales y colectivas. Las conclusiones de este estudio evidencian que el cine puede contribuir a esos objetivos por medio de un itinerario cultural que da respuestas a estas tres necesidades y nos hace descubrir el sentido que le da la población a los decorados que los rodean.
