For this, I analyze two processes that are coetaneous and interrelated: the professionalization of samba in Cachoeira through a local category of spectacle, the tocada; and the conversion of religious festivals into great events of the cultural and tourist agenda of Bahia. Among such festivals, the São João Feira do Porto is presented as an exemplary event of the establishment of the stage as a new territory for samba and religious celebrations. The article aims to demonstrate that the spectacularization of the religious festivals and the tocadas of samba have created a sound spatiality that bring together events, people, and repertoires – once dispersed throughout a countless number of events interwoven by local networks of sociability – in the same place, the stage. Descrevo, neste artigo, as mudanças na organização da performance e as dinâmicas espaciais que o palco estabeleceu na prática musical de sambadores de Cachoeira, Bahia. Para tanto, analiso dois processos coetâneos e inter-relacionados: a profissionalização do samba em Cachoeira através de uma categoria local de espetáculo, a tocada; e a transformação das festas religiosas de largo em grandes eventos do calendário cultural e turístico baiano. Dentre tais festas, o São João Feira do Porto é apresentado como um evento exemplar do estabelecimento do palco como um novo território para o samba e as festas de largo. O artigo tem por objetivo demonstrar que a espetacularização das festas de largo e as tocadas de samba criaram uma espacialidade sonora que conflui eventos, pessoas e repertórios – outrora dispersos por um sem-número de eventos entrelaçados por redes de sociabilidade locais – para um mesmo lugar, o palco.
