In this commentary I reflect on the central arguments of Finn's article to consider its scope and possibilities, as well as eventual limitations that can be complemented from other perspectives. El artículo de John C. Finn es una valiosa aportación en español al estudio geográfico de procesos musicales. En particular, invita al lector a considerar la música en una tensión entre la acción y la representación, y ofrece una aportación metodológica que toma en cuenta esta dinámica. En este comentario presento una reflexión sobre los argumentos centrales del artículo de Finn para considerar sus alcances y posibilidades, así como eventuales limitaciones que pueden ser complementadas desde otras perspectivas.  O artigo de John C. Finn é uma contribuição valiosa em espanhol para o estudo geográfico dos processos musicais. Em particular, convida o leitor a considerar a música em uma tensão entre ação e representação, e oferece uma contribuição metodológica que leva em conta esta dinâmica.
