A partir de un plano de 1834 indicando la ubicación de sepulturas de charrúas se procedió a una investigación interdisciplinaria histórico-arqueológica. La información se consideró excepcional debido a que no se conocen otras fuentes que indiquen con precisión sitios de esa naturaleza referidos a la nación charrúa. También se consideró relevante la escasa distancia entre el sitio y aquellos lugares en donde sucedieron los hechos que pusieron fin a la presencia de la nación charrúa en la naciente República Oriental del Uruguay. También se tomó en cuenta el breve lapso transcurrido entre aquellos hechos y la confección del plano -1831 y 1834 respectivamente. Los principales resultados de la investigación fueron la ubicación del sitio sobre el terreno, el reconocimiento inicial de sus características, así como la identificación de patrones y regularidades en el entorno. Además se buscaron similitudes entre el sitio, su contexto y las fuentes etnohistóricas disponibles. Com base em um mapa de 1834 indicando a localização das sepulturas Charrúa, foi realizada uma investigação histórico-arqueológica interdisciplinar. As informações foram consideradas excepcionais porque nenhuma outra fonte indica com precisão sítios dessa natureza relacionados à nação Charrúa. A curta distância entre o sítio e os lugares onde ocorreram os eventos que encerraram a presença da nação Charrúa na nascente República Oriental do Uruguai também foi considerada relevante. O curto período de tempo entre esses eventos e a preparação do mapa -1831 e 1834, respectivamente- também foi levado em consideração. Os principais resultados da investigação foram a localização do sítio no terreno, o reconhecimento inicial de suas características e a identificação de padrões e regularidades na área circundante.
