A group of families promoted the above mentioned foundation to get rid of their status as tenants of the Mayorazgo de Sañogasta defying the lordly power. The impulse given by the Bourbon Reforms to the creation of new villas acted as a frame, so the colonial authorities supported each party alternatively in order to benefit the crown interests focused in the mining activity. Este trabajo se propone analizar el contexto conflictivo en el cual se desarrolló la fundación de la Villa de Guandacol en el oeste de la jurisdicción de La Rioja, a partir de 1783. Un grupo de familias promovió la fundación para librarse de su condición de arrendatarios del Mayorazgo de Sañogasta desafiando el poder señorial. En el marco del impulso dado por las Reformas Borbónicas a la creación de villas nuevas, las autoridades coloniales arbitraron apoyando alternativamente a las partes para promover los intereses de la corona cifrados en la actividad minera. Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar o contexto conflituoso em que se deu a fundação da cidade de Guandacol, na região oeste de La Rioja, a partir de 1783. Um grupo de famílias promoveu a fundação para se libertar da condição de arrendatários da propriedade de Sañogasta, desafiando o poder dos senhores feudais. No contexto do impulso dado pelas Reformas Bourbon à criação de novas cidades, as autoridades coloniais arbitraram, apoiando alternadamente as partes na promoção dos interesses da coroa, enraizados na atividade mineradora.
