Since the focus of the current research can be situated among the studies of memory, there are references to authors considered relevant figures of this intellectual field. Through the different sections, the relationships between social memory and historical memory, between text and context, and between memory, history and politics are analyzed. The conclusions go back to the theoretical-methodological exploration about memory and history for the case studied offering a provisional line of analysis. El artículo propone una reflexión sobre la aplicabilidad de ciertos abordajes teórico-metodológicos para un análisis del desarrollo de la etnohistoria andina chilena. El enfoque adoptado se sitúa dentro de los estudios sobre memoria, en consecuencia el trabajo se apoya en los referentes principales de este campo intelectual. En los diferentes apartados se analizan las relaciones entre memoria social y memoria histórica, entre texto y contexto y entre memoria, historia y política; mientras en las conclusiones se retoma la exploración teórico-metodológica acerca de la memoria y la historia para el caso en estudio y se propone una línea de análisis provisional. Este artigo propõe uma reflexão sobre a aplicabilidade de determinadas abordagens teóricas e metodológicas à análise do desenvolvimento da etno-história andina chilena. A abordagem adotada situa-se nos estudos de memória; consequentemente, o trabalho baseia-se nas principais referências desse campo intelectual. As diferentes seções analisam as relações entre memória social e memória histórica, entre texto e contexto, e entre memória, história e política. As conclusões retomam a exploração teórica e metodológica da memória e da história para o caso em estudo e propõem uma linha provisória de análise.
