The methodological proposal, based on documentary research, contemplates five stages: compilation, identification, collection, systematization and analysis. Fourteen archival education programs in Colombia were included in the study; two were discarded because they did not meet the previously defined selection criteria. The competences of the programs are in line with the social function of archives, access to information, records management, transparency, accountability, information governance, social memory, business intelligence, digital information management, records appraisal, data management, research and teaching. Finally, it is concluded that archival education in Colombia has experienced significant growth in recent years, reflecting a disciplinary evolution supported by the commitment of universities to offer academic programs in archival education with a strong social relevance. La propuesta metodológica, basada en la investigación documental, contempló cinco etapas: recolección, identificación, obtención, sistematización y análisis. Se incluyeron en el estudio 14 programas de formación archivística en Colombia, de los cuales 2 se descartaron porque no cumplieron los criterios de selección previamente definidos. Las competencias de los programas están acordes con la función social de los archivos, el acceso a la información, la gestión documental, la transparencia, la rendición de cuentas, la gobernanza de la información, la memoria social, la inteligencia de negocios, la gestión de la información digital, la valoración documental, la gestión de datos, la investigación y la docencia. Finalmente, se concluye que la formación archivística en Colombia ha experimentado un crecimiento significativo en los últimos años, reflejando una evolución disciplinar respaldada por el compromiso de las universidades al ofrecer programas académicos en archivística con una fuerte pertinencia social.
