It examines and systematizes the various critical horizons and epistemic constellations that were prevalent in the field of philology at the time in order to recover the originality of the work undertaken by the Argentinean philologist to support her research. In his overview, the author also discusses how his own approaches to Spanish classical theatre have intersected with Weber de Kurlat’s critical production and illuminates the foundational role of the Argentine philologist in the renewal of the approaches to Lope de Vega’s dramatic corpus. La contribución analiza el impacto de la producción de Frida Weber de Kurlat en el campo del teatro clásico español en general, y en particular de Lope de Vega. Se examinan y sistematizan los diversos horizontes críticos y las constelaciones epistémicas de la filología entonces imperante a fin de recuperar la originalidad del trabajo asumido por la filóloga argentina para sustentar sus investigaciones. En su recorrido por la producción crítica de Weber de Kurlat, el autor recoge asimismo los diálogos que ha entablado con ella en sus propias aproximaciones al teatro clásico español y consigue iluminar el lugar fundacional de la filóloga argentina en el proceso de renovación de las lecturas del corpus dramático de Lope de Vega.
