Through the productivity of funeral metaphors, thedialogue between the proposals of Sarlo and Ludmer (but also those of MarceloTopuzian, Jorge Panesi, Luis Chitarroni, César Aira) aims to illuminate not only ahistorical debate but also its potential eloquent remains for the cultural conditionsof the 21st century. Este ensayo rastrea la idea de fin, considerada como diagnóstico y como pronósticode los saberes de la literatura, a partir de los textos de dos críticas argentinas: Escenasde la vida posmoderna (1994), de Beatriz Sarlo, y “Literaturas posautónomas” (2006)de Josefina Ludmer. El tópico del fin, concebido en el cruce entre literatura, críticay teoría, permite postular preguntas sobre la vigencia de prácticas, roles, nociones ydefiniciones de lo literario. A través de la productividad de las metáforas fúnebres,el diálogo entre las propuestas de Sarlo y de Ludmer (pero también de MarceloTopuzian, Jorge Panesi, Luis Chitarroni, César Aira) pretende iluminar no solo undebate histórico sino también sus potenciales restos elocuentes para las condicionesculturales del siglo XXI.
