The analysis of both visual and sound representation is completed with the description of an event happened at the fieldwork, and evolving the impossibility of filming the facilities of the rail workshops of Junín, Buenos Aires. Through these situations the article will tell of the value of the documentary filmic productions in the frame of political struggle sharpened by the economic crisis and engrossed in the urban transformations. In that struggle is also engraved the researcher’s own work. Este artículo se propone reflexionar sobre la imagen en la representación fílmica. El análisis de la representación visual y sonora se complementa con la descripción de un suceso ocurrido en el trabajo de campo, y que implicó la imposibilidad de filmar instalaciones de los talleres ferroviarios de Junín en la Provincia de Buenos Aires. A través de estas situaciones se intentará dar cuenta del valor de las producciones fílmicas documentales en el marco de la lucha política agudizada por la crisis económica e inmersa en las transformaciones urbanas. En esa lucha se halla inscripto también el propio trabajo del investigador.
