The figure of the subject allows to overcome the issues regarding identity that anthropology has dealt with from its origins up to the more recent debates that oppose communitarism and republic. La cuestión del sujeto puede encontrar su lugar en la antropología como un tercer concepto que permita trascender los diversos sentidos atribuidos a las nociones de persona e individuo, sin por ello eliminarlos. La figura del sujeto permite ultrapasar las problemáticas de la identidad que ocupara la antropología, desde sus orígenes hasta las polémicas más recientes oponiendo el comunitarismo y la república. A questão do sujeito pode encontrar o seu lugar na antropologia como um terceiro conceito que permite transcender os diferentes sentidos atribuídos às noções de pessoa e indivíduo, sem por isso eliminá-los. A figura do sujeito permite ultrapassar as problemáticas da identidade que estiveram presentes na antropologia desde suas origens até a aparição das polêmicas mais recentes, opondo o comunitarismo e a república.
