Entre los diversos medios disponibles, los podcasts se han consolidado como un formato especialmente valioso para historiadores interesados en acercar sus saberes profesionales a públicos más amplios. Este artículo tiene por objeto reflexionar sobre los formatos y las funciones de los podcasts históricos a partir de programas realizados por historiadores académicos en Estados Unidos, Inglaterra, Australia y Argentina. Un punto central de esta revisión radica en entender cómo diversos podcasts históricos han manejado la tensión entre el entretenimiento y la transmisión de visiones académicas complejas y rigurosas sobre el pasado.
