Especially, and taking into account his economic failure, compared to the studies and testimonies of collaborators and officials of his successor in the Ministry of Economy, Juan Sourrouille (1985-1989). The article analyzes Grinspun’s vision of economic policies while he served as Secretary of Economic Planning, focusing on the debates raised and the alternatives and proposals for economic policy. The sources studied were speeches, official documents and bibliography of Grinspun, as well as press and public statistics and testimonies about the period. We sustain that analyzing Grinspun’s vision of the economy and economic policy allows us to understand the tension between the economic visions within the ruling party and the alternative proposals that the former Minister formulated to face the economic problems of the period. In particular, highlighting his postulates on the need for financial reform as a driving force to recover growth and reduce inflation levels.  Los estudios de economía e historia económica que abordaron los años de gobierno de Raúl Alfonsín (1983-1989) dieron menor importancia a la visión, interpretación y controversias planteadas por el primer ministro de Economía, Bernardo Grinspun (1983-1985). Especialmente, y teniendo en cuenta su fracaso económico,frente a los estudios y testimonios de colaboradores y funcionarios de su sucesor en el Ministerio de Economía, Juan Sourrouille (1985-1989). El artículo analiza la visión de Grinspun sobre las políticas económicas mientras se desempeñó como secretario de Planificación Económica poniendo el foco en los debates planteados y las alternativas y propuestas de política económica. Las fuentes estudiadas fueron discursos, documentos oficiales y bibliografía de Grinspun, como también prensa, estadísticas públicas y testimonios sobre el periodo. Sostenemos que analizar la visión sobre la economía y la política económica de Grinspun permite conocer la tensión entre las visiones económicas al interior del partido gobernante y las propuestas alternativas que el exministro formuló para enfrentar los problemas económicos del periodo.
