| Sumario: | Cultural heritage is an active and dynamic social construction that recovers, reinterprets, and visibilizes past elements and their connection to collective memory, identity, and a sense of belonging to a territory. From a dialectic social research perspective, archaeological sites managing demands participatory processes that help to understand the historic relations of domination between social actors and their different logics and interests. Special consideration is given to the ethnogenesis processes going on in the region. The Cerro Cuevas Pintadas of Guachipas study case (Salta Province, Argentina) shows the importance of identifying and articulating the different interpretations and social values associated with this emblematic rock art site. Our goal in this study is to consider the multivocality associated to the heritage object in order to strengthen the participation of different social actors, acknowledging at the same time their interests and the diverse amount of power they have. We also propose some methodological tools for promoting the equal distribution of the resources that may be generated by the site and to help the local community to construct hybrid and decolonial identities by rescuing oral memory and the archaeological remains present in the área. |
