Therefore, we have proposed a revisited interpretation of this enclave based on its geographic location, its archaeological remains, and the traces of Islamization documented. Consequently, we can establish a new type of hierarchy in the Iberian Peninsula center and provide another perspective on rural archaeology and the concept of the peasantry. The settlement was studied using Landscape Archaeology and a detailed study of the materials found at the site, especially ceramics, during rescue excavations. Although the information on this settlement is scarce, the archaeological remains suggest that it could have been a hilltop settlement of some significance, involved in the territory administration of the Middle March during the first phase of the Emiral period of Al Andalus. El estudio del asentamiento de Fuente de la Mora (Madrid, España) es crucial para la investigación de las zonas rurales dada sus características. Esto nos ha llevado a proponer una nueva interpretación de este enclave, debido mayormente a su situación geográfica, a los materiales en él encontrados y a los rastros de la islamización que se han documentado. Esto nos permite determinar un nuevo tipo de jerarquización en el territorio del centro peninsular ibérico y dar otra visión sobre el concepto de Arqueología Rural y del término de campesinado. Para poder alcanzar estos resultados se ha decido estudiar este asentamiento a través de la Arqueología del Paisaje y de un estudio detallado de los materiales hallados en el yacimiento durante las excavaciones de rescate, sobre todo cerámicos. Aunque la información sobre este asentamiento es parcial, los restos arqueológicos hallados nos permiten sugerir que pudo tratarse de un asentamiento en altura (hilltop) de cierta importancia, que ayudó en la administración del territorio de la Marca Media durante la primera fase de la época emiral de al-Ándalus.
