More specifically, regulations on clerical Marriage were the product of the need to define the nature of spiritual authority before the challenges of other religious communities.  El presente artículo analiza los fundamentos teológicos y eclesiológicos de las normativas ‘anti-ascéticas’ de finales del siglo V en la Iglesia del Imperio sasánida. Al respecto, sostendremos que las normativas tendientes a sostener el matrimonio como condición para el status clerical fueron el resultado de complejas fuerzas que operaban tanto desde el exterior como en el interior de la Iglesia.
