His conduct would become thus the center of a powerful centripetal force, capable of uniting the Hebrews as one single group of people, objectifying those values as commendable, and clearly distinguishing that community from all others.  El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo el análisis de la escena de martirio del anciano Eleazar en el Libro IV de los Macabeos para dar cuenta del alcance de su accionar dentro y fuera de la diégesis. Es decir, creemos que su sacrificio es descripto de esta manera en particular para presentarlo como ejemplo máximo de sus valores culturales.
