Dar a conocer en primer lugar aportaciones personales al tema, así como hacer un balance de las líneas prioritarias de evolución de la historiografía antigua, con especial referencia al Bajo Impero Romano, Presentar un pequeño guión de la disertación, a modo de hilo conductor por donde vamos a discurrir. Primero, una aproximación al estudio de la historia, sin la cual es prácticamente imposible comprender cómo ha evolucionado la Historia Antigua en Europa y en España fundamentalmente. Segundo, una exploración bibliográfica sobre la historiografía europea del siglo XX, viendo cuáles son los hitos fundamentales, en qué momento se han producido cambios historiográficos sustanciales que han modificado nuestra percepción del mundo romano y más especialmente nuestra percepción del mundo bajo imperial romano. Finalmente, como tercer hito, una indagación de cuáles son los modelos que actualmente se proponen en las diversas escuelas historiográficas. Publicize first personal contributions to the subject and take stock of the priority lines of development of ancient historiography, with special reference to the Lower Roman Empire Provide a small script of the presentation, by way of wire through which going to devise. First, an approach to the study of history, without which it is virtually impossible to understand how ancient history has evolved in Europe and Spain primarily. Second, an exploration of the literature on twentieth-century European historiography, seeing what are the milestones, the time at which changes have substantial historiographical have changed our perception of the Roman world and especially our perception of the world under Roman imperial.
