Sumario:This article analyzes the challenges and opportunities posed by the emergence of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in legal education, with a particular emphasis on academic assessment. Through a critical and reflective approach, it examines how GenAI is reshaping traditional evaluation practices and proposes pedagogical strategies aimed at fostering the development of technical, ethical, and metacognitive competencies. The paper explores methods such as integrated task design, oral assessments, collaborative work, and the ethical integration of AI, seeking to transform these tools into valuable resources for the education of future legal professionals. It also illustrates how existing assessment instruments can be adapted through GenAI to promote a more inclusive, formative, and critically engaged learning experience. Finally, the article highlights the importance of further research into the educational impact of these emerging technologies, while upholding academic integrity and fostering ethical reflection in legal education
